Choose handwriting paper that suits your child
Use wider lines when a child writes large letters. A middle guide can help with letter height; a margin provides a starting edge. Let the child’s comfort and the teacher’s instructions guide your choice rather than age alone.
Five short writing activities
- Name practice: add a name at the top, then leave space to copy it.
- A picture and a sentence: draw a favorite animal on separate paper, then write one sentence about it.
- A thank-you note: write who the note is for and one thing the child appreciates.
- A word collection: write three words about a topic, such as the sea or the garden.
- A daily sentence: finish “Today I…” with a short sentence.
Printing and saving your worksheet
